This blistering arena-style rock anthem showcasing Haze’s wide vocal range and signature energy rock ‘n roll is guaranteed to have listeners and audiences singing along in full voice and on their feet.
“The riff is one of the first I ever wrote. It was originally intended to be for my first proper band 12th Avenue but got shelved,” Haze said. “When I started writing new music, I picked the riff up again. At the same time a friend whose father passed away contacted me to share how much this song meant to him. The song was written to encourage strength in character, to always fight on in the face of adversity, and to always push to do better, regardless of what life throws at you. Today this theme is more relevant than ever.”
A full-time touring musician, Haze is known for his wide vocal range and electric large live performances. He skillfully delivers a signature combination of high-energy rock ‘n roll and silky old-school soul, fused with raw emotional blues.
His powerful soaring vocals, skilled soulful guitar playing, and pulsing rhythms are a force to be reckoned with, delivering a show experience like no other – an escape into a world where nothing else matters, where you find yourself lost in the moment and his music. Each performance is treated as though it would be his last.
“Lyrically I also wrote this song for myself, to encourage myself to always stand steadfast, keep everything together, and fight on no matter what – to always push on and do better! As I also produced the track, I had to be extra stringent on myself, between playing the roles of artist and producer, to push myself to keep doing better and fight on for the desired result.”
Off-stage, Haze shows appreciation for his fans, always taking the time to meet them at every show.
Haze added: “I believe to really love music, is to find the beauty in all forms and genres and embrace it.”
Haze is a natural showman with influences ranging from rock icons like Queen, The Beatles and Lenny Kravitz, blues masters Eric Clapton and BB King, to modern artists like Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, Fall Out Boy and Jack Garratt. Mark is known for experimenting sonically, merging contemporary pop and electronic cultures with the historic timelessness and beauty of rock, soul and blues.
Haze and his band at that time, 12th Avenue, were the official support act for Seether in 2008 opening for one of South Africa’s greatest exports at large venues like Grand West Arena and the Standard Bank Arena. Haze was also the official support act for rock ‘n roll legends Bon Jovi on their 2013 world tour.
