SA: Red Bull adds another date for Kabza De Small’s symphonic concert
Red Bull has added another date to Kabza De Small’s Johannesburg concert with a symphonic orchestra at the Lyric Theatre in Gold Reef City.
Tickets to the initial show, slated for 8 June, were sold out in five hours prompting the organisers to add an additional show on 9 June. The show is a one-of-a-kind concert designed to fuse amapiano and classical music.
Dubbed Red Bull Symphonic, the event will bring together two musical worlds, with Kabza De Small expected to perform his iconic repertoire with a 33-piece full-scale symphonic orchestra led by Ofentse Pitse, who is the first black South African female conductor.
“Due to overwhelming demand and the extraordinary support from fans, a second show has been added for 9 June,” the organisers said. “Renowned amapiano legend Kabza De Small, alongside female conductor Ofentse Pitse and the Symphonic Orchestra, will immerse audiences in a symphonic fusion of his amapiano hits such as ‘Imithandazo’, ‘Asibe Happy’ and many more.”
Red Bull Symphonic is a unique cultural experience that combines the creative vision of a modern artist with the expertise of a classical music director, set against the majestic backdrop of a full symphonic orchestra. This collaboration goes beyond a concert, telling an authentic African story that honours the continent’s diverse heritage and cultural legacy.
