Stonebwoy dominates 4Syte Awards
At the event, the seventh in the awards history, Stonebwoy, R2Bees and Keche performed live. Nigeria’s Kiss Daniel, who took the Best African Act award for the video of the remix of his hit song ‘Woju’, also entertained the crowd.
Despite leading the nominations, both R2Bees or Shatta Wale ended the night empty-handed.
A primarily Ghanaian event, the 4Syte Awards also awarded people from other countries via the Collaboration category. Thus South Africa’s AKA and Nigeria’s Burna Boy picked up awards for their turn on Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie’s ‘Special Someone’.
The 2015 event was, however, dominated by Stonebwoy. The reggae-dancehall act won three categories: Best Directed Video, Best Reggae/Dancehall Video and Most Influential Artist. These trophies are the latest in a string of successes for the artist this year, including wins at the Ghana Music Awards in April and the BET Awards in the US in June.
Rapper EL picked up two awards - Best Special Effects and Best Edited Video - for 'King Without A Crown'.
