Tems announces world tour
Nigerian popstar Tems has announced a world tour in support of her upcoming debut album Born in the Wild, which is due for release on 7 June.
The singer confirmed this to her 5.3 million Instagram followers on Friday, two weeks after the arrival of her latest single ‘Love Me Jeje’.
“Excited to announce that I’ll be going on my first world tour. Can’t wait to see you all soon!” she posted.
Tems will go on the road from June to November, playing more than 30 shows with special guests Lekan and Naomi Sharon.
Ahead of its arrival, Tems, a BET Award and Grammy winner, has described Born in the Wild as her “most special moment.” She added: “Everything I have I put into this. Thank you all so much for believing in me.” The album follows her EPs For Broken Ears (2020) and If Orange Was a Place (2021).
Last month, Tems made her debut at the Coachella festival in the US. A highlight of her set was a performance of the remix of Wizkid’s chart-topping single ‘Essence’, with surprise appearances by Wizkid and Canadian pop icon Justin Bieber, the song’s other guest.
