Tigo Festival returns to Ghana
One of the prominent festivals in Ghana is set to return for its 2015 edition. Holding 28 November, the concert Unplugged will feature top performers. EL, VVP and MzVee are expected to be on stage for the event.
For dancehall fans, Ghanaian stars Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale will put in a performance. Also performing at the festival sponsored by Tigo Ghana is Nigerian artist Patoranking. It marks a reunion of sorts for Patoranking who recently featured on the remix to the song ‘Pull Up’ with Patoranking.
The 2015 edition of the festival, which gives Ghanaian residents the opportunity to see some of their singers perform on stage, is intended to celebrate the anniversary of Tigo Music with customers. The service has since proved its worth by winning the Most Innovative Product of the Year at the Ghana Telecom Award.
‘We made a huge impact on the music industry last year,’ said Jesse Agyepong, Director of Marketing at Tigo, ‘with the launch of our partnership with Deezer, the international music streaming service. Through our commitment to commercializing music, we have been able to give real value for money to our local artistes and support to the Ghana Music Industry.’
Referring to the Telecom Award win, Agyepong added that it “shows how relevant, timely and insight driven the Tigo Music brand is.’
The 2015 Tigo Music Unplugged Concert holds 28 November at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
