Uganda’s Jose Chameleone ready for USA tour
Multi-talented Ugandan artist Jose Chameleone is set to embark on a tour of the USA. He will stage a series of concerts between 26 May and 4 June that will thrill his fans in various American cities.
The tour kicks off with several performances between 26 and 30 May at the 16th annual Dallas Memorial Kenyan Festival in Dallas, Texas. More than just a concert, this annual event is a reunion of family and friends - a unique musical, cultural and community experience. For nine years and counting, the organisers have hosted masses of Kenyans and other Africans. Besides Chameleone, Kenyan gospel artist Bahati is also set to perform at the event.
Chameleone will then perform on Friday 3 June in Minneapolis, Minnesota at a gig dubbed 'The Return of the King'. The event is organized by Ssengendo Productions and will be held at Red Sea nightclub.
He then moves to the Hampton Conference Centre in Capitol Heights, Maryland on Saturday 4 June, where he will perform alongside Nigerian star Iyanya.
This year is set to be a busy one for the Ugandan superstar. Later this year he will tour South Africa, with gigs scheduled for Durban on 29 September, East London on 30 September, Pretoria on 1 October and Cape Town on 2 October.
Further proof of his international appeal, earlier this year Chameleone collaborated with Kenyan afro-pop group Elani on the single 'My Darling', before working with Rwanda's DJ Pius on 'Agatako'.
