Unsigned Only Music Competition 2019: All the winners
The winners for the 2019 Unsigned Only Music Competition were announced online last week.
The competition is intended for solo artists, bands and singers all over the world who are looking for exposure, recognition and a chance to be noticed by industry professionals.
South African artist Anna Wolf won the Grand Prize for the song ‘Believer.’ Wolf will be awarded $20 000 in cash, plus additional prizes, and one-on-one mentoring by an elite group of record company executives.
Other African artists who won in different categories are Pedro Barbosa (Mozambique), Kidum and Boda Boda Band (Burundi). Both acts were second place winners in the Vocal Performance and World Music categories respectively.
Australia’s Rhina and Russian band OYME came first in the Vocal Performance and World Music award categories respectively.
“I feel such gratitude for this honor,” Anna Wolf said on Facebook. “The message of ‘Believer’ is burnt into every fibre of my being, to let go of expectations, to face my own vulnerabilities and to always keep faith that tomorrow will be the day I get to share my music with the world. Thank you for the stage Unsigned Only, now let's step on and perform.”
