Win tickets to Freedom the musical!
Music In Africa is giving away three (3) double tickets to Freedom the musical so you and a friend can enjoy the impressive production at the South African State Theatre in Pretoria on Friday 23 March 2018.
Freedom tells the story of Phindile, a Tshwane University of Technology student activist who leads a Fees Must Fall protest to the Union Buildings.
The play, which boasts a cast of 47 members, was directed by Aubrey Sekhakhi. It features local artists Simphele Mnyandu, Simphiwe Ndlovu, Kabelo ‘Bonafide Billi' Togoe and rapper Chad Da Don.
Speaking about the importance of South Africans telling their own stories, Sekhakhi said: “We need to constantly tell our own stories the way we want and see fit. It is important to reflect to the rhythm and beat of the time so that when people look back they can be able to capture the past and know how our freedom came about.”
