Wiyaala to release collaborative EP
Ghanaian artist Wiyaala will release an EP in the next few months.
The singer said in a statement that her aim is to work in several genres. “I’ve met the most amazing guitarist/musician who I’m going to be collaborating with over the next few months," she wrote. "His name is Haythem Mohamed from Newcastle. We are planning an EP with four or five tracks. We are looking at doing Jazz, Afro-Soul, Afro-Techno and more."
Wiyaala is currently on tour in the UK with GRRRL, a project sponsored by In Place of War and funded by the Arts Council in the UK.
“We [GRRRL] are a collaboration of women musicians from around world and we are rehearsing an electronic fusion of dark techno, ghetto bass, hip-hop, dancehall, reggae, soul and electronica which will tour the UK in late August/early September,” she said.
Speaking about the collaboration with Mohaamed, Wiyaala was enthusiastic. “It will sound like nothing you ever heard before! Hopefully, we will have the work completed by the end of October.”
Wiyaala is also promoting a single Village Sex with a video released days ago. Watch it below:
