Zimbabwe’s Stunner shoots video with Kapital K and Jamaica’s Sir Ford

Both Sir Ford and Kapital K, who is Zimbabwean but based in South Africa, made an appearance at Stunner’s If I Die Tonight album launch on Friday 19 August at Pablo’z VIP in Harare. They later joined Stunner on stage for a performance.

On the album If I Die Tonight Stunner works with both Kapital K, Sir Ford and other artists including Albert Nyathi, Jah Prayzah, Logun, Mudiwa, Ngoni Kambarami and Trigger.

Although a foreign artist, Sir Ford is known in Zimbabwe as his music is familiar to the local audience. His songs ‘Ohh Lord’ and ‘Gwan Talk’ were very well-received in Zimbabbwe. Born Glenton Foreman in St. Thomas, Jamaica, Sir Ford’s interest in music began in the late 1980s when he started DJing at sessions. His own music career took off when he entered a music competition in Rocky Point, St. Thomas and emerged first place.

For his part, Kapital K has worked with Stunner, having been featured in the video for ‘Warrior’. Having spent the first decade of his life in the U.S, Kapital K moved to Cape Town, South Africa, in 2010. There he became one of the top hip-hop artists in the country. In 2015, the rapper was applauded by rap icon P. Diddy when he freestyled at the Revolt Music Conference in Miami Beach.

Stunner is among a few Zimbabwean artists who have achieved considerable success through music. In June 2011, he released the single ‘Godo’ which became a hit. He has since managed to make a name for himself by performing at a number of shows locally and internationally.
