Bio
Born on 11 May 1980, Stunner (real name Desmond Chideme) is one of the pioneers of rap music in Zimbabwe. Growing up in Glen Norah, Harare, he joined the music industry as a choreographer before he began recording his own music. He earned himself a mark in Zim music industry with songs such as ‘Team Hombe’ and ‘Dhafu Korera’. He owns a recording label called Tazoita Ca$h Records, which has signed artists such as Shastro, Junior Brown and MC Chita.
He has released a couple of albums namely ‘Hameno’, ‘KaLife’, ‘Team Hombe’, ‘Number 1’, ‘Can’t Stop Me’ and ‘Ndauraya Munhu (2012). On ‘Ndauraya Munhu’, he sings about the lyrical death of his competition. The album contains songs such as ‘Panofa Munhu’, ‘Next Level’, ‘Anna’ and ‘Ndaita Mbiri’. Some of the videos he has released are videos ‘Godo’, ‘Panofa Munhu’ and ‘Next Level’.
He has to date won three Zim hip-hop Awards and has received much recognition for his music from the NAMA awards and the African Entertainment Award. He has had international tours in countries such as Spain, South Africa, the United Kingdom and Australia.
Apart from music, Stunner has featured in many television and radio advertisements. He had the honor of becoming the first Zimbabwean to perform at the Big Brother Africa eviction show. He has featured on songs by other artists both in Zim and abroad. He is a qualified auto mechanic.
