Zonke, Lira & Zahara to headline the Reconciliation Festival
SA’s multi awarding winning artists are set to headline the Reconciliation Festival at Carnival City, Festival Lawns in Boksburg, South Africa on Saturday, on 3 December.
Musicians, Lira, Zahara and Zonke will entertain family members at this big Afro-soul event starting at 10am throughout the day. The event will feature a number of activities namely picnic, food court, music, refreshments garden, kids playground and exhibition. The trio will be joined by music stars such as Mi Casa, Smanga, Amanda Black, Sjava, Rabs Vhafuwi to name a few.
The Reconciliation Festival promises to be an exciting event considering a lineup of artists. All the above artists have made success in the country and abroad and will no doubt exhibit an exciting performance.
Busking under the success of her latest album Work of Heart, Zonke, real name Zonke Dikana, is an artist who earned a large following after the release of her third album Ina Ethe (released 2011). The project earned her double platinum and saw her nominated at the 18th edition of the South African Music Awards. Also a producer, Zonke recorded and released another album titled Give and Take (2013) which earned a gold status two months after its release. Since then, Zonke has released more songs and collaborated with many big artists.
On the other hand, Lira is no doubt a perfect fit for the event. Her music has won many hearts not in her country but in other regions as well. Her music career is on the rise and she has 11 South African Music Award trophies under her belt.
Her counterpart, Zahara, real name Bulelwa Mkutukana, has become a darling of many Afro-jazz lovers. With barely seven years in South Africa’s highly competitive music scene, the young musician rose to fame following the release her debut album Loliwe which went platinum in 13 days and double platinum after 17 days. Loliwe sold over 100 000 copies in South Africa and has since garnered more than 4.4 million YouTube views. With eight awards under her belt, Zahara has become a force to reckon and one of the most sought after musicians in the country.
