Call for applications: Music Crossroads Zimbabwe residential scholarship
Music Crossroads Zimbabwe, in partnership with UK audio equipment manufacturer Focusrite, is calling on young people living in remote areas in Zimbabwe to apply for its 2021 residential scholarship programme.
The one-year scholarship aims to achieve the following:
- Allow talented young people from remote areas to benefit from musical training and capacity building not currently available to them.
- Help establish the academy as a sustainable educational centre, allowing for musical training to continue to be delivered to creative people.
The programme will accept one male and two female students to the academy throughout the year, with guided access to high-quality instruments and equipment.
It will cover/provide:
- Tuition.
- Accommodation.
- Local transport subsidy.
Note: Students should be prepared to cover their own breakfast, lunch and supper costs.
The scholarship targets students:
- With the most potential and greatest needs.
- Who are economically disadvantaged.
- Who live in remote areas where they face more barriers.
- Who live far away from the academy and can’t afford accommodation.
Application process
Interested candidates should write an application letter with the subject line ‘MCA-Focusrite Residential Scholarship’. The application should be addressed to ‘The Director, Music Crossroads Academy’, detailing the applicant’s strengths and reasons why he or she deserves the scholarship. All applications should be submitted via email to melody@music-crossroads.net or infozim@music-crossroads.net.
The submission deadline is 15 March.
