Call for papers: Non-visitors of arts institutions research
The Journal of Cultural Management and Cultural Policy (JCMCP) in Germany is calling on researchers and educators to submit theoretical reflections, case studies and empirical studies research papers for its special issue on non-visitors and new audiences of museums, concerts, theatres or film festivals.
Launched in 1992, JCMCP is an international, peer-reviewed journal of original research that has published scholarly work about art and social justice. Scholars have also submitted research on issues of diversity and multiculturalism, policy, entrepreneurship and social justice education in arts management.
There are many journals and books that address the audiences of museums, concerts, theatres and film festivals. However, research on non-visitors is rare, although a large part of the population belongs to this group.

The submissions should answer the following questions:
- How are non-visitors defined?
- What are their motivations for not visiting an arts or cultural institution?
- How can these institutions attract non-visitors and convert them into frequent visitors?
- Why should the institutions do so?
- How can non-visitor research be carried out? And what would be the motivation behind such research?
