Call for applications: Engage Art Contest in the US 

The annual contest seeks to help artists professionally by providing them with various art education and mentorship resources. In addition, artists accepted into the competition will earn a page in the online gallery for promotion.

“The Engage Art Contest recognises the power of the arts to communicate important concepts,” Engage Art Contest says.

“We seek to direct the focus of that artistic creativity toward a scriptural theme that is both laser-focused, universal, and eternal. Whether you’ve been making art for decades or you’ve never done something like this before, Engage Art is a space for you to learn, explore, submit your creative work, find recognition for your skill and creativity, and reflect on the greatest artist ever.”

The contest takes place in the Engage Art Contest app, focusing on scripture engagement, encouragement, and exclusive inspirational content. This edition’s scripture is Ephesians 6:10-20. 

Submissions can take the following formats:

• Music video
• Performing arts
• Film
• Visual art

Those submitting music videos can do so in the following music genres:

• World, vocal, rock, pop, opera, Latin, jazz, hip hop, gospel, folk, electronic, dance, country, classical, blues, children’s music and alternative.

Applicants can use this year’s topic to tackle various subjects, including: 

• COVID-19
• Mental health
• Conflict with society
• Social justice
• Technology
• Worship

Requirements

• Active Engage Art App Account, which is available on IOS and Android. 
• Biography.
• Song title.
• Artist statement.
• Explanation of how artwork illuminates the spiritual battle/relates to Ephesians 6:10-20.
• A photo to represent the applicant’s video in the online gallery (cover art, a poster, or an image from the video).
• Instrumentation and lyrics/transcript (for music videos, film and performing arts videos).
• Credits for each team member. 

Prizes

• First prize – $15 000
• Second prize – $10 000
• Third prize – $5 000
