Justin Bieber joins Nigeria’s Omah Lay on Attention
Nigerian singer Omah Lay today announced a new single ‘Attention’ featuring Canadian pop star Justin Bieber. The song is available for streaming and download on all major digital platforms.
‘Attention’ was released via KeyQaad, and marks Omah Lay’s first single this year. It also heralds the Afro-fusion act’s debut album Boy Alone, slated for release in April.
The song was produced by Harv, who worked on Bieber’s hit ‘Peaches’. ‘Attention’ serves as another key collaboration by Bieber with a top Nigierian artist following his appearance on Wizkid and Tems’ chart-topping ‘Essence’ remix last year.
‘Attention’ is themed around its persona’s love-me-plea to their love interest. It adds to Omah Lay’s growing catalogue of impressive releases, including singles like ‘Damn’ and ‘Godly’. He is also behind the EPs Get Layd and What Have We Done.
In the past few years, Omah Lay has become one of the most recognisable faces of African pop music. In December, Africa-facing streaming platform Boomplay named the musician among the top three most-streamed male artists in Nigeria.
The musician has collaborated with Afrobeats giants including Wizkid, Adekunle Gold, and Olamide. At the 14th Headies, he won the Next Rated Award upstaging fellow Nigerian acts Tems, Oxlade and Bella Shmurda.
Meanwhile, Omah Lay has announced a world tour ahead of next album. It will see him travel to Sydney in Australia on 1 April. He will then head to Norway, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, France, UK, Spain, and Poland before ending in the Netherlands on 26 June.
