Apple Music for Artists introduces new features
Artists are set to enjoy more control on Apple Music for Artists following the introduction of several new features.
Many of the new features, available for Spotify for Artist users for years, give creators more control over the information fans can see, with the new artist profile section allowing artists to take control of their profiles and connect with fans through their own words.
Artists can create a customised biography by answering a series of short questions. They can also add their hometown, date of birth, and identify band members, collaborators, influencers, and pronouns.
A new ‘Account’ section of Apple Music for artists contains all the information under the old ‘manage’ header. Some of the roles you can assign to a team include Admin, Analyst, and Profile Editor. Permissions for each of these roles can be detailed as necessary.
Apple is also simplifying the process of submitting lyrics to Apple Music as simple as copying and pasting for artists.
A new ‘Measure’ section allows artists to see how their music measures up on the Apple Music platform. Additionally, the 'Overview', 'Trends' and 'Places', offer artists more information about their music, affording them a closer look at what’s trending and where. It allows artists to chart their performance and monitor plays, average daily listeners, purchases, and even how many times a song has been Shazamed.
“The analytics and demographic data in ‘Measure' can help you gain meaningful insights about your audience. You can use this information to help strategise how you promote your next release or tour dates,” says Apple.
