Ghana: Reggie Rockstone lands endorsement deal
Ghanaian hiplife pioneer and entrepreneur Reggie Rockstone was last week unveiled as the brand ambassador for natural stone fabricator Stone Depot.
The company, the official distributor of Spanish-owned Cosentino products in Ghana, specialises in the production and distribution of sustainable surfaces for architecture and design.
The musician was unveiled during a ceremony last week. Stone Depot confirmed the musician’s signing on social media with a video on its official Instagram page shortly after. “Say hello to the brand ambassador of Stone Depot Reggie Rockstone,” Stone Depot said.
The company has also announced the opening of its new showroom in Accra, adding that it “couldn’t be more excited about the future”. Stone Depot CEO Elias Hage said he was optimistic that the partnership would mark a new chapter for his company.
Reggie Rockstone’s new role makes him the local face of the company, and the deal is expected to leverage the artist’s influence to grow brand awareness for Stone Depot and increase its customer base.
The partnership adds to the artist’s extensive business portfolio, which includes interests in food distribution and nightlife.
Reggie Rockstone is credited with pioneering the hiplife genre, which is a fusion of Ghanaian highlife and hip hop music. Although he was born in the UK, he honed his craft in the US. He is the founder of the indie label Kassa Records, and has five albums to his credit, including Makaa Maka (1997), Me Na Me Kae (1999), Me Ka (2000), Last Show (2004) and Reggiestration (2010).
The rapper released his latest song called ‘Lalid Daddy’ featuring emerging hip hop act Lalid in February.
