Groover and Horus partner to boost artists’ exposure
France-based DIY music promotion platform Groover has partnered with distribution company Horus Music.
The collaboration will give artists on Groover’s wider exposure through Horus’ established channels to reach a global audience, while providing independent artists new opportunities to navigate music distribution complexities.
Horus says the agreement presents many opportunities catering to diverse needs ranging from distribution to marketing options. Additionally, the deal means that Groover artists can benefit from an exclusive 50% discount on its digital press one-sheet service. “As a bonus, we are providing a complimentary playlist plug to Spotify and Apple Music, aiming to enhance artists’ digital presence and expand their reach to connect with new audiences,” Horus said.
Founded in 2006, Horus provides accessible and cost-effective distribution solutions for independent artists and labels. With an in-house technology system, artists can effortlessly upload and distribute their music, handle royalty management and access up-to-date analytics.
Groover, which launched operations in 2019, offers a straightforward process for artists and artist representatives to send their music to over 2 000 active media outlets, playlist curators, record labels, and industry professionals. By paying a micro-fee of €2 per selected contact, Groover ensures that the recipients will listen to the music and provide feedback within a week. In case of non-response, credits are refunded, allowing artists to contact other curators. If the track receives positive feedback, it may be shared through reviews, radio broadcasts or playlist additions.
Groover’s latest announcement follows a similar alliance with artist services provider CD Baby in November last year to “help emerging artists promote their music with results.” In that partnership, CD Baby artists get a 15% discount on their first Groover campaign, with access to the platform’s network and a seven-day feedback guarantee. They also receive priority support and a spot on Groover’s exclusive Spotify playlist. Groover users, on the other hand, benefit from a free CD Baby release and a 40% distribution discount.
Earlier this month, Groover also joined forces with music streaming platform SoundCloud to support artists in promoting their music by taking advantage of a 25% discount on ‘Promote on SoundCloud’ by enrolling in SoundCloud Next Plus or Next Pro.
