SA: TNK MusiQ presents Le Premier Chapitre EP
South African amapiano duo TNK MusiQ has released a seven-track EP titled Le Premier Chapitre. The record is available for streaming and download on major digital platforms.
The EP follows the successful release of two singles ‘Hayi Baleka’ and ‘Saka’, which have already made waves in the amapiano scene.
“Basically, Le Premier Chapitre is ‘the first chapter’ in English,” TNK MusiQ said. “Our sound is known for being aligned with France, so we changed The First Chapter into French because of the connection. It’s the first offering to our fans, so we had to call it Le Premier Chapitre.”
The EP is a diverse compilation of new songs and tracks crafted last year, blending fast-paced groovy jams with tunes perfect for those laid-back moments with family and friends. TNK MusiQ’s signature fusion of tech ensures that Le Premier Chapitre offers something for everyone and is not confined to a single sound. The project features collaborations with renowned artists Including DJ Maphorisa, DBN Gogo, Daliwonga, Chley, Tman Xpress, Leon Lee, W4DE, and malume.hypeman.
“All these people made the journey of creating this EP a joy,” the duo said. “We’ve never had a dull moment in the studio, and we’ll forever be grateful for them taking their time to make music with us.”
The duo shared insights into the creation of their previous hits ‘Hayi Baleka’ and ‘Saka’. ‘Hayi Baleka’ was inspired by DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small’s ‘Sandton’ and TNK MusiQ aimed to recreate it with their unique style. ‘Saka’ on the other hand, started as an instrumental meant for DJs but gained unexpected traction shortly after its creation. This convinced TNK MusiQ to include it in the EP for their growing fanbase to enjoy.
TNK MusiQ has been on a steady rise in the music industry, with previous hit releases such as ‘Bells’ alongside DBN Gogo, ‘Woza La’, ‘Wenza Kanjani’ alongside Mellow and Sleazy, ‘Pushing Perkashin’ with W4DE and ‘Too Deep’ with TxC and Dinky Kunene. These tracks have solidified their position as stars in the amapiano genre space and earned them a dedicated fanbase.
