Open call: Africa’s Campus Battle Season 6 auditions
Africa’s Campus Battle (ACB) in Nairobi, Kenya, is inviting university students from the continent to participate in Season 6 of its talent competition.
ACB is a competition themed around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), seeking to uncover artistic talent within universities in Africa.
By giving participants a platform to express themselves through art forms such as dance, music, spoken word and more, ACB is looking to ignite creative problem-solving around the SDGs, inspiring young people to be agents of positive change on stage and beyond.
The winner of ACB Season 6 will walk away with $2 000 (a cash prize of $1 500 and a $500 scholarship), a fully paid trip to London, and the Anthony Athaide trophy for their university.
Application process
To join the competition, applicants must fill out the audition form and attach a two- to three-minute video showcasing their performance, just as they would in front of a live audience.
Before submitting the video, ensure:
- The video is in landscape mode with clear sound, a suitable background and proper lighting.
- Lighting is key. Make sure your surroundings are well-lit with either natural light or your own special set-up.
- The performance must be recorded in one take, one camera, without editing. You can film your performance as many times as you like to get it right, but the final version must be from one take only.
- The content is original and suitable for a general audience. Any content deemed inappropriate or offensive by the organiser will be disqualified.
All competition entries must be received no later than 10 June 2024 at 11.59pm (EAT).
