Open call: Soundscape Ghana programme for music publishers
Applications are currently ongoing for the Soundscape Ghana programme, which aims to empower local music publishers.
The initiative is the brainchild of the French Development Agency, in collaboration with the Creative Arts Agency.
It forms part of the Support to the Expansion of the Ghana Music Industry campaign, which is geared towards providing tailored training to Ghanaian music professionals, especially those in the music publishing sector.
The programme includes four sessions and a six-day bootcamp for collaborations. Sessions will be a mix of face-to-face and remote meeting, with mentoring provided from September 2024 to March 2025.
Participants in this programme will:
- Gain a 360-degree understanding of the international music ecosystem.
- Learn how to manage music projects effectively.
- Understand the legal environment of music publishing.
- Develop networking and collaboration skills with other music professionals.
- Acquire skills and networks to enter or advance in music publishing.
- Improve their existing business model.
Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must have:
- Demonstrated understanding of the music industry in Ghana.
- Entrepreneurial pursuit with an existing project in the music industry.
Note
- Experience in music production, artist management or music marketing is a plus.
- Selected participants outside Accra will receive subsidised transportation and accommodation.
