Apple Music names SA DJ duo TxC as latest Isgubhu cover stars
Apple Music has announced South African DJ duo TxC as the latest Isgubhu cover stars.
The announcement follows the release of the pair’s latest single ‘Yebo’ featuring Davido, Tony Duardo, LeeMckrazy and DJ Biza.
“Life’s a playlist, make yours worth dancing to,” TxC told Apple Music. “Finally, we’ve been granted the opportunity to be the cover of one of the hottest playlists. We definitely couldn’t wait any longer. Here’s to more good music. Let’s rock.”
To celebrate their feature, TxC, made up of Tarryn and Clairise, have also created an exclusive Isgubhu playlist that features tracks that they love.
TxC have firmly cemented themselves as trailblazing artists who have redefined the amapiano landscape. As global ambassadors for the popular genre, their debut EP A Fierce Piano (2022) and latest single ‘Turn off The Lights’ (2024) both offer a glimpse at the nuanced complexities of amapiano while affirming their commitment to challenging the status quo.
TxC draws inspiration from South African amapiano artists Kabza De Small, DJ Maphorisa, and DBN Gogo, but takes the genre to new heights by seamlessly blending neo-tech and soul elements into their amapiano-infused sound. This innovative approach has garnered them a global following, with notable performances at FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar and a show-stopping appearance on the esteemed Boiler Room platform. Despite their impressive accolades, TxC remains committed to their core values, dedicating their music and live shows to empowering and inspiring young girls to strive for greatness, break barriers, and push boundaries in all aspects of their lives.
