Nigeria: Jeffrey Benson shares double single Non Stop/Go Low
Toronto-based Nigerian singer-songwriter Jeffrey Benson has released a double single titled ‘Non Stop/Go Low’, available for streaming and download across all major digital platforms.
Produced by Calliemajik and Savetheworldbeatz, the tracks follow his recent EP Afro6ix Takeover. According to a statement, the new offerings “capture Jeffrey’s dynamic range.”
‘Non Stop’ blends nostalgic early 2000s Afrobeats with modern influences, celebrating love and attraction and combining passionate lyrics with a dance-ready beat.
‘Go Low’, by contrast, slows things down with an alté-inspired groove, and draws listeners into a space of quiet anticipation and connection.
“‘Non Stop’ is all about that instant connection when someone enters a room – not just their appearance, but their presence… the thrill of attraction, the excitement of desire, and those moments of unspoken chemistry,” Jeffrey Benson said.
On ‘Go Low’, he noted: “It’s about two people locked in a rhythm, moving as one on the dance floor. There’s a magnetic connection between them that doesn’t need words – it’s all in the movement.”
Jeffrey Benson, real name Jeffrey Okonkwo, has been making waves with his unique blend of Afrobeats, alté, and soul. Born in Lagos, he was introduced to Afrobeats legends like P-Square and D'banj through his influential uncle, T-Joe. Drawing inspiration from icons like Wizkid and Burna Boy, Jeffrey’s sound blends his Nigerian heritage with the multicultural vibrancy of Toronto.
At just 15, Jeffrey began experimenting with songwriting and rapping, honing his distinctive baritone voice. Today, his music has garnered over one million streams across digital platforms. He is behind projects such as Some Love & More (2021) and Afro6ix Vol. 1 (2022).
