Nigeria's Shallipopi among VEVO DSCVR Artists to Watch for 2025

DSCVR ATW, part of Vevo’s DSCVR series, is a highly competitive list with over 600 submissions. It gives selected artists key exposure through curated playlists and editorial features.

Shallipopi was named alongside 17 others from around the world in the 11th edition of the annual initiative, which will feature high-quality live performance videos from the class of 2025, including two exclusive performances from each artist starting this month.

Every year, in celebration of the list, VEVO awards one standout artist the title of DSCVR Artist of the Year.

Shallipopi rose to prominence in 2023 with his breakout single ‘Elon Musk’, followed by the release of his debut EP Planet Pluto and debut studio album Presido La Pluto. 2024 witnessed the arrival of his second album Shakespopi, as well as the launch of his record label, Plutomania Records. He also boasts collaborations with artists like Tekno, Rema, and King Promise.

African ATW alumni include Qing Madi, Ayra Starr, Oxlade and Nonso Amadi from Nigeria and Libianca from Cameroon, among others.
