Ian Businge

Bio

Ian Businge is an electric guitarist from Uganda. He is mostly self taught but has also studied at Africa Institute of Music and Kampala Music School. His work started for worship teams at Calvary Chapel Church, and it has been further built up working with Qwela band. He's involved in Music Performance and Music Education and is also an amateur double-bass player. He hopes to be defined as a Christian working in the music industry.

Ian has collaborated and worked with several bands and artists in Uganda. This has led to him becoming a well rounded musician, able to play most genres, although he is now focusing on jazz.
Ian has been a member of Qwela band since May 2009, an Afro-Fusion band. He has also been a part of SoulDeep for a short while. Ian has had the opportunity to collaborate with Myko Ouma and David Pragmo N'saiga, as well as many more for Qwela Junction concerts. Ian's session work has included work for Oscar Kihika, Maurice Kirya, Jackie Akello, Susan Kerunem.
