Call for applications: Festival managers' workshop in Uganda
The Bayimba Foundation in partnership with the Festival Academy, an initiative of the European Festivals Association, is inviting festival managers to apply for the Atelier for Young Festival Managers in Kampala, Uganda, from 14 to 20 August 2020.
The Atelier for Young Festival Managers is a seven-day programme that brings together 35 festival experts, artists and cultural activists from all over the world to share ideas on the artistic aspects of festival management.
“The concept of having young arts and festival managers from around the world in one space, learning, sharing and discussing about their festivals and working jointly about their future initiatives is a great opportunity Bayimba will bring to the East African community in partnership with the Festival Academy,” Bayimba Foundation founder Faisal Kiwewa said.
The 35 selected participants will also have the opportunity to attend the 13 edition of Bayimba Festival on Lunkulu Island from 20 to 24 August 2020.
Interested individuals can send a scan of their passport and/or ID card by email to info@thefestivalacademy.eu and complete the online application form here.
The Bayimba Foundation is also responsible for the DOADOA performing arts market, the Amakula Film Festival, the Kampala International Theatre of the Arts and the Bayimba Academy, which mentors upcoming artists, especially those exploring hip hop.
The application deadline is 15 October.
