Redacted Music Group
Bio
Redacted Music Group Pty. Ltd was founded in 2019 as a forward-thinking record label and label-services company with a mission to Empower Artistic Vision. Our company is formed around the principle that all artists should be owners of their work and be able to see their vision through with a company that supports them fully. We offer premier global distribution and label services to artists, as well as operate our own record label to help artists develop to their full potential.
Though still in our early stages, our label is seeing success with our signings such as Monelle, whose recent project “In Loathing Memory” has garnered well over 100,000 streams and critical acclaim from the press and playlist curators around the world. Our work with artists Yolophonik, IORDN, Masilo The Healer and Dezray has also garnered a great deal of attention both locally and internationally, and we are now taking the steps to bring our artists to the world as the forefront of South Africa’s musical exports.
Our dynamic team comprises seasoned producers, performing artists and marketing experts with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the music industry who all share the same passion for music and the vision of creating a more equitable and sustainable industry. Our team has over 15 years of experience organizing and running live music events and our company is looking to become a tastemaker and launchpad in the live music space. The company is led by founder and CEO Tumi Lengoasa, a seasoned record producer and performing artist with over 16 years of experience as a performer and over 10 years of experience as a record producer. And although grounded in our South African roots, our team also has vast international experience, having lived and been educated across three different continents and speaking over 7 languages between us.
We have an ambitious and aggressive growth plan and aim to become the biggest music aggregator, distributor, project investor and label-services provider in Africa and beyond. This would allow us to fulfil our mission of bringing change to the music industry and putting more power in the hands of artists by offering them services and deals that shift the paradigms that currently rule our industry.
