Safowa Nyom
Bio
My name is Nathaniel Zewu known as Safowa Nyom who hails from Asuboi located in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Born of Mr. Hayford Zewu and mom, Akosua Asantewaa on the 19th of July, 1988. I’m the third child of my parents out of ten children.
As a young child, I grew up at Akim Oda in the Eastern Region of Ghana where I completed my junior high school, St. Andrews Memorial School Institute. In 2007, whiles in senior secondary school, Anum Presbyterian Secondary School I moved to Accra to complete my senior high school.
My love for music has been forever but started officially in 2006 during senior high school till date. Right from highlife to Afro pop my love for authentic indigenous Ghanaian music grew and that’s where I ended up with the brand name SAFOWA which means “SOLID AFRICAN FEEL OF WEST AFRICA” in acronym but (KEY) in the Akan dialect. I play an instrument called Seperewa which is an indigenous African instrument that sends true authentic feels down your spine when you listen to me play.
