Bio
ACHILLE RUJAMIZI ARGUS is a Congolese actor, slam poet and director born in Bukavu on August 13, 1997. He lives and works in Bukavu in South Kivu in the east of DR Congo. In 2000, he began his school career at the “LE PROGRES” school complex where, at the age of 7, he encountered the world of the stage through seynette.
During his secondary and scientific humanities studies at ALFAJIRI college, he discovered his passion in art and took up ballet and theater (Notre Damme de la Paix troupe) then writing. In order to perfect his talent, he participated in several workshops and training in theater and directing in the region, notably that of Maitre Mwambayi Kalengayi of the INA in 2019, Nzey Van Musala of the INA in 2021, Gervais Ciralirwa in 2020, Master LOFE in 2020, Dieudonné NIANGOUNA 2022, etc.
Since 2017, he has embarked on the quest for an interrogative art that questions society and places the artist at the center of the community. He decides to leave the Bourgois art and embarks on a personal quest: to encounter humanity and transcend it. Go in search of this audience for whom he makes his performances. Since the start of his professional career, he has played several characters in different creations such as: “ce soir je tue”, “Bouche cousue”, “En attendant Godo” by Samuel Beckett, “fier et Grand”, “ die of love.”
Since 2016, he has been an artist in residence at the French Institute of Bukavu-Hall des grands lacs in the performing arts, notably Slam-poetry and spoken word (Passe-moi l’MIk).
Thanks to the Man Of People (MOP) label, he produced in March 2024 his very first album "Ubuntu" with which he is currently touring in concerts in universities and cultural spaces in the African Great Lakes region.
