Trace has announced the 10 finalists competing for an opportunity to win a music video worth R80 000 (about $5 300) that will be featured on the recently launched Trace Gospel TV channel.
The announcement follows a January call when local artists were invited to submit songs for the Trace Gospel music video competition.
The finalists were drawn from four South African provinces as follows:

- Master Earl – ‘A Calling’
- New Sound Revival – ‘Phakama Kimi’
- Thuso Wa Sibini – ‘Magnificat’
- Rajey – ‘Tendre Ami’
- KingdMusic – ‘Trust (Farelela)’
Eastern Cape
- Elegant Raps – ‘Winning’
KwaZulu-Natal
- Londiwe KaMasondo Cele – ‘Nzulu Yemfihlakalo’
Western Cape
- Shana Ray – ‘Go’
- Chris Ikenna – ‘Jabu’
“Our submissions period saw us listening to hours of varied gospel music from each corner of our diverse country,” Trace Southern Africa managing director Valentine Gaudin-Muteba said.
“We were very impressed with the singles that a lot of artists submitted and it was a difficult road to nailing it down to the final ten. We are confident that the finalists that we have chosen represent all South Africans and Africans.”
Voting closes on 6 March and fans can vote for their favourite finalists here.
