SA: Apple Music features Nasty C on Song Stories
South African hip hop artist Nasty C’s 2019 ‘God Flow’ has been featured on Apple Music’s Song Stories.
Song Stories is a new short-form video series that dives into the creative process, inspirations and challenges faced by some of the country’s leading artists, including Amanda Black, Elaine, Ami Faku, Nasty C and Sha Sha.
It offers a glimpse into what it takes to be the artists they are today and shares the tales behind their latest tracks.
“It’s really about being a god in whatever you feel like,” Nasty C said about the ‘God Flow’ track. “When I made the song at that particular time, that’s how I felt. When I said ‘God Flow' for the first time, it kind of made me feel I could really take this song far."
Nasty C also speaks about his success and the making of his recent album Strings and Bling.
“Nasty C has come far, becoming Apple Music's most streamed South African artist in the past four years, appearing on the Billboard Charts as a feature on Major Lazer's ‘Particula’ and having every song from his multi-platinum album Strings and Bling achieve gold status or more,” Apple Music said.
Apple Music launched Song Stories with Amanda Black’s ‘Afrika’ featuring Nigerian artist Adekunle Gold. The idea was to find the force behind her creativity and what makes her one of the most sought-after artists in South Africa. The song reveals the extent of her cultural pride and speaks about the importance of racial diversity.
