Call for applications: Arab countries mobility fund
Arab artists and cultural operators can now apply for mobility grants under the Wijhat programme.
Wijhat was created by Culture Resource, an NGO that supports artistic creativity and encourages cultural exchange in the Arab world. The programme aims to raise public awareness of the arts and culture of the Arab region by supporting regional or international travel by artists and cultural actors from the region.
"The programme offers artists the opportunity to take part in cultural activities and events and to present their work to a variety of audiences in wider regional and/or international contexts in order to exchange knowledge and skills with their peers and/or to build their professional capacity. Wijhat offers grants of up to $8 000 to support travel within and outside the Arab region," Culture Resource says.
The Wijhat programme offers participants the following support:
- Airline tickets.
- Visa fees.
- Accommodation and partial coverage of living expenses.
It covers the following activities:
- Arts and cultural festivals.
