South African artist to headline Blankets and Wine festival in Uganda

Fans will be treated to a great line up of other artists from around Africa with acts such as Suzan Kerunen, Eric Wainaina, Freshlyground, Kidum, Madtraxx and Liquideep along with others set to perform at the concert.

‘Nine events down the road and the ‪‎Blankets and Wine Kampala experience only keeps getting better. We are excited to have Zahara, an authentic Afro-Soul singer headlining this year’s event as we mark 10 events for what has become Uganda’s most anticipated event’, Phoebe Nakabazzi,  Tusker Malt Lager brand manager says of the event.

Zahara's debut album Loliwe was released in 2011. The first issue sold out within 72 hours and 19 days later, the album reached double platinum status in South Africa by surpassing the 100,000 sales mark.

Kenya's Eric Wainaina will regale his fans with his music which to date has been a blend of Kenyan Benga characterized by Soukouss-inspired guitar lines, pop harmony and traditional instruments. The Kenya artist Kenyan has been in Germany where he staged concerts at various places.

Joining this stellar artist line-up is  Kidum a Burundi singer, composer and master drummer. Jean-Pierre Nimbona, aka Kidum is a Kenyan-based artist whose infectious tunes have hooked legions of fans in East Africa and throughout the world. Kidum is a winner of the 2012 Kora Award.

Africa are Liquideep a soul and house music duo formed in Johannesburg in 2007. The group was formed by Ziyon (vocalist/songwriter/producer) and Ryzor (DJ/producer). Since the success of their smash single ‘Fairytale’ they have shared stages with huge American superstars Akon and Angie Stone.

The popularity of Blankets and wines which have been held across Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda continues with the Kenyan event having evolved into a two day event now dubbed Africa Nouveau which was held for the first time on 5-6 September 2015.
