Old and new pop meet at GOAT concert
A new concert is set to bring together new and older pop musicians. The Greatest of all Time concert (also called the GOAT concert) will feature Nigerian acts with hits from the nineties to pop artists currently dominating the airwaves.
The GOAT concert, which holds 15 November, is targeted at celebrating the waves of music artists Nigeria has produced in the last few decades.
‘For a country that prides itself on being the entertainment hub of Africa, we ought to do more,’ said Omoyeni Disu MD OSD Entertainment, organisers of the concert. ‘My drive for a change, for concerts that give audiences more than just performances but an experience is what birthed this idea for the Greatest of All Times concert. Also on the partnership of artistes, we are going to see a never before experienced partnership of artistes of same genre but definitely of different generations.’
The concert has received state support as The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service is part of the concert sponsors.
Disu noted that the ‘choice to bring together different artistes was influenced by the need to showcase how the music industry has grown from generation to generation, and to also encourage alliance between old and new artistes.’
Artistes set to feature at the concert include DJ Jimmy Jatt, Tony Tetuila, Olamide, Olu Maintain, Styl Plus, Shaydee, Sound Sultan, and Aramide.
