Call for applications: 2021 Creative Force programme in Sweden
The Swedish Institute is calling on international organisations to apply for the Creative Force programme to be held in 2021.
The programme is open to Swedish organisations and their African partners who work through media or the arts to strengthen democracy, human rights and freedom of expression from the following target countries: Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and Morocco.
"During the ongoing pandemic, we are exceptionally allowing applicants to allocate up to 50 per cent of the total budget to project management and administration," the Swedish Institute says.
The Creative Force programme offers two types of grants:
Seed Funding
- This fund is available for carrying out a small project or for preparing a larger project.
- The Swedish organisation and its international partner can apply for up to 100 000 Swedish krona (about $10 000).
- The proposed initiative must be completed within 12 months of funding being granted.
Collaborative Projects
- This fund is aimed at larger projects, which should involve knowledge exchange, capacity building or method development.
- The Swedish organisation and its international partner are advised to apply for the fund to support a project that has previously received seed funding.
- The amount available for this grant is 500 000 krona per 12-month period.
- A project may last for a maximum of 24 months from receipt of funding (in other words, applicants can apply for up to 1 million krona).
Eligibility
To qualify, the organisation must:
- Be registered in Sweden.
- Have been registered for at least one year (for seed funding) or two years (for collaborative projects).
- Write the application jointly with its international partner.
Interested organisations can access the application form along with complete application guidelines here.
The application deadline is 27 January 2021.
Successful applicants will be notified between 12 and 16 April 2021.
