Call for applications: Grants for artistic projects in Madagascar
The Goethe-Zentrum Antananarivo/Cercle Germano-Malagasy (CGM) is inviting cultural practitioners in Madagascar to submit proposals for art projects.
The successful applicants will receive a maximum of 1.5m Ariary ($400) to complete their projects between April and July 2021.
Eligibility
- Preference will be given to projects that consider the current COVID-19 situation and the restrictions it imposes.
- Applicants must be based in Malagasy and aged 18 years or more.
- Applicants must implement the proposed project in Madagascar.
Grants are open to cultural practitioners working in the following art disciplines:
- Music
- Poetry
- Performance art
- Photography
- Fashion
- Drawing
- Visual arts
- Digital art
- Cinematographic art/video
- Literature
- Theatre
Requirements
Applicants must submit the following:
- A description of the project in French (100 words max).
- A CV.
- A cover letter with the project's objectives and place of implementation.
- The project's total budget and comprehensive breakdown of how the grant received will be used by the beneficiaries.
Selection process
The selection committee will pay particular attention to the projects that:
- Use innovative and witty approaches to the arts.
- Aim to strengthen the creative exchange between artists and different art forms.
- Address the relevant issues of Malagasy society.
- Highlight the COVID-19 situation and the restrictions it imposes.
The application deadline is 15 March at 11.59 pm (EAT).
About Goethe-Zentrum Antananarivo/CGM
CGM is a cooperative partner of the Goethe-Institut and a cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany. It promotes knowledge of the German language abroad and encourages international cultural cooperation. Its main tasks are to promote collaboration and cultural exchanges between Germany and Madagascar and promote the German language in Madagascar by organising numerous cultural events.
