Akan is the second artist to be featured in the monthly series, which debuted with Wanlov the Kubolor on 28 January 2017. Akan’s eponymous EP released in 2016 introduced audiences across Ghana to his style of music and storytelling delivered in his Akan language.
The Artiste Concert is a live concert series with a focus on African music and artists. It features one stage, one act and a two-hour intimate performance. The concert is organised by the Nubuke Foundation, a non-governmental organization located at East Legon, which hosts programmes ranging from art exhibitions, poetry and drama, to music and film shows.
The concert will start at 8 pm at the Nubuke Foundation, East Legon, with a live performance followed by photograph sessions with the audience that will start at 10pm and a DJ set to round off the night. Tickets for the show will be sold at the gate for 10 Ghana cedis (about $3).
