Call for proposals: 2022 Pa Gya! Literary Fest in Accra
The organisers of Pa Gya! A Literary Festival in Accra, Ghana, are inviting proposals ahead of the sixth edition of the event taking place from 14 to 16 October 2022.
Put together by the Writers Project of Ghana and Goethe-Institut Ghana, the festival caters to all art literary forms, and aims to bring together creatives and intellectuals like writers, critics, academics, performers, artists and musicians.
The programme features activities such as workshops, panel discussions, networking, book launches, readings, sales and literary prize awards. Over the years, the festival has grown to include art talks, art and literary exhibitions and film screenings.
In 2021, the festival featured guests from 17 countries around the world and hosted online and in-person audiences. FOKN Bois members Wanlov the Kubolor and Mensa as well as music producer Panji Anoff have spoken at the festival in previous years.
The festival is inviting proposals and collaboration from organisations, groups or persons interested in participating in this year’s event. The proposals must focus on literary output (writing, books, performance, etc.), activities (workshops, book clubs, etc.) or related projects.
The call is also open to booksellers, publishers and literary organisations that may wish to take stands during the festival.
The deadline for submissions is 17 June.
Interested persons, organisations and groups who wish to present or stage an event may email pagyafestival@gmail.com with the subject, ‘PROPOSAL FOR PAGYA 2022’.
The applications will reviewed, after which the successful projects will be contacted in July 2022.
