Linktree launches new mobile app
Link-sharing tool Linktree has launched a new mobile app that is now available on iOS and Android.
The link-in-bio platform says the aim of the app is to make it faster and easier for creators to keep their Linktree up-to-date, leaving them more time to create content. The tool allows users to create a Linktree profile, add and manage links, and customise their design directly on their phones. The app boasts quick content-sharing features such as embedding a new Spotify song or designing a custom background.
The Linktree mobile app has a tool for monetisation and creators can link people to their products or services to generate earnings. Creators can also collect tips, donations and even leads from their fans or followers. The app’s Lifetime Analytics page lets users view traffic and conversion metrics, including sales and payments, which can help users better understand their audience.
Linktree said launching the mobile app was a natural progression, with the majority of user sign-ups and logins happening on mobile devices. Linktree says it gets 1.2 billion unique visitors a month.
“We are thrilled to launch the Linktree mobile app as we continue to broaden the link-in-bio category we created, ultimately offering creators new ways to link everything they are, anywhere they are,” Linktree co-founder and CEO Alex Zaccaria said.
The launch of the new app forms part of Linktree’s aggressive growth strategy beyond the link-in-bio service. The company recently launched a new brand vision to go from being seen as just a link-in-bio tool to a brand that encourages discovery, connection and community. The launch of the new app should give the company a leg up on its competitors, such as Shorby and Link in Profile.
In June, Linktree introduced Link Apps, which embed Linktree partners’ digital experiences and services for platform visitors, including NFT galleries, music, gaming launches, social media pages and shopping directly within users’ Linktree profiles.
The platform recently partnered with NFT marketplace OpenSea to unveil a set of new features including the NFT Gallery link, which enabled users to showcase their NFTs on the link-sharing service. Linktree Marketplace, meanwhile, is a recently launched one-stop directory for users to browse its platform partners and integrations, with a focus on exposing partnerships.
The developments follow the company’s funding round in March, which raised $110m and gave it a valuation of $1.3bn. The platform has also expressed plans to introduce new revenue streams and create more value for creators and brands.
