Call for entries: Mzansi Musical Instrumentalist Awards

The organisers of the Mzansi Musical Instrumentalist Awards (MMIAs) are inviting artists to submit entries ahead of the inaugural ceremony in October.

The call is open to instrumentalists, including pianists, bassists, drummers, guitarists, keyboardists, and percussionists, among others. The public can also nominate their favourite instrumentalists with the winners receiving a trophy and cash prize.

To enter, artists should download the application form here, fill it out, and send it via email to info@mmia.co.za before 20 August.

Entry forms are also available on request via text message or WhatsApp on 0645268349.

Artists can physically submit their forms together with the following material: USB flash, CD or DVD and address it to:

“Welcome to an experience you have never had before in Mzansi,” MMIAs founder and president Sphamandla Vezi said. “One that will stay with you for the rest of your life. This is a call to all musicians and instrumentalists to embrace this project as their own. All races and genders in all genres may partake in this historical initiative.

“An exhilarating experience to get our minds, bodies and spirits reinvigorated after the pandemic. We have witnessed the world revolve around the sounds of music for thousands of years and music has been part of the human species since its existence.”
