Nigeria: Bayanni joins Mavin Records
Nigeria label Mavin Records has announced emerging singer Bayanni as its latest signing.
The label unveiled Bayanni on 23 August, along with a four-track eponymous EP, which is available for streaming and download across all major digital platforms.
According to label boss Don Jazzy, Bayanni secured his deal following his time at the Mavin Academy. “He has gone through a series of defining moments and is ready to be unveiled to the world,” he said.
The singer, whose sound blends indigenous and contemporary pop sounds, joins a growing roster of rising Afrobeats stars like Rema, Ayra Starr and Magixx at the label whose alumni include Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal, Reekado Banks and Iyanya, among others.
Confirming the news, Bayanni said: “Lonely nights, dark mornings, waiting for the sun to shine on me while posting my freestyles back in 2016. Then I got a DM in 2019 from someone I respect so much. Till date, it still feels like a dream, but don’t wake me.”
The singer expressed his gratitude to Don Jazzy for the life-changing opportunity. “Sit back, relax and enjoy as I take you on this journey,” the singer told his fans.
Bayanni’s announcement follows the signing of fellow upcoming R&B singer Boy Spyce who inked his deal in April.
