Reason Rizzla Sibanda

Reason Rizzla Sibanda (born Reason Sibanda) is an entrepreneur in the entertainment, marketing, construction and FMCG Sectors with interests in the Southern African Region. He has vast knowledge in the Music business within the SADC region where he has worked with various artists and institutions and developed a huge network within the regional industry. He is currently the CEO of Zimbabwe Music Awards and is a board Member of the Zim Hip Hop Awards and Bulawayo Arts Awards. He is also adviser to various institutions and artists within the region.

Through his Boomcity Afrika company he is linking and creating synergies between various artists, institutions and companies in the African continent. His regional influence saw him coordinating and bringing together 5 major regional radio stations together namely Metro FM (South Africa), Rock FM (Zambia), ZiFM Stereo (Zimbabwe), Gabz-FM (Botswana) and Zodiak Radio (Malawi) in the groundbreaking Africa day (2022) simulcasting. He has also run various music and IP workshops with the American Embassy.

Mr Sibanda is also the director of Afro Platinum Media (founded in 2009) a media company that focuses in Music, Film and Events production and distribution. This company produced and managed award winning artists from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe. He has also produced various film & Music projects. In SA he has worked with many artists who are now giants regionally and international as a promoter, manager and publisher from 1998 to 2012 where he also judged the SA Music Awards.

He is the founder and Regional director of Boomcity Advertising which owns and manages various out of home media solutions in Zimbabwe, Malawi, Zambia and Botswana. He runs various construction projects under Boomcity Construction and is a distributor of various FMCGs in the region under the Boomcity Distribution banner.

A speaker of 8 languages Mr Sibanda is a true regional player with vast experience and contacts within the SADC region. He has worked and resided in most of the countries and speaks 12 languages, making him very well versed with the diverse markets of the region. He has been involved in developing and marketing various key brands within South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Zambia Kenya and Tanzania.
