She started writing music at age 9 and was a part of the poetry club in high school, before studying film (directing and writing), then pivoting into a Bachelor of Arts in Live performance (Music). Seeing as both her mother and grandmother were both singers, this combined with her father’s vast music collection - which influenced a diverse taste in music - the calling of Leomile to music is a generational one.

This song about the reassurance of faith and speaking things into existence, comes to life through the guidance of pianist and composer Nduduzo Makhathini and is produced by trumpeter and composer Ndabo Zulu. Leomile also contributed to Platoon’s African Lullabies Chapter 1 with the track ‘Khoeli’.
