RiSA extends submission deadline for SAMAs 2023

The Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) has extended the deadline for submission of entries for the 2023 South African Music Awards (SAMAs) until 21 April.

According to RiSA, the decision follows numerous industry requests for a longer entry period and extra days to buffer Easter. The eligibility criteria remain the same – entries should have been released between 1 February 2022 and 14 April 2023.

“It’s our intention at RiSA to give all artists a fair chance of being celebrated and receiving South Africa’s highest music honour,” RiSA CEO Nhlanhla Sibisi said. “This grace period is aimed at assisting submissions that are in progress to be completed and new ones to be made. I encourage musicians and organisations to heed the call and ensure that they are in line to be recognised.”

Submissions can be made via the SAMAs website or delivered physically at Unit 1, 152 Bram Fischer Drive, Randburg, Johannesburg, South Africa, before 21 April.
