SoundCloud boosts benefits for artists with new partnerships
Music streaming service SoundCloud has announced that it is expanding its benefits programme for Next and Next Pro artists.
The move, made public on Wednesday, will be achieved through new partnerships with website building and hosting company Squarespace, VoIP and instant messaging social platform Discord, computer software company Adobe and hip hop networking and learning platform Rap Plug.
SoundCloud’s Artists Member Benefits programme already provides exclusive offers and discounts from leading music industry brands and services. Now, artists on the programme will will be able to access benefits like unique music-themed domains from Squarespace, three months free of Discord Nitro, more than 30 free courses from industry professionals on Rap Plug, and benefits from Adobe that include 20% off Adobe Premiere Pro and trials of Adobe Express Premium.
“Being an artist today often requires more than making great music. Between managing your online presence, creating assets for social media, and building out a community, there’s a lot artists have to handle,” SoundCloud SVP of Creator Tracy Chan said. “We’re aware of that and we want to make things easier by offering benefits that help you across all areas of your career. It’s great to be partnering with other creator-first companies like Squarespace, Adobe, Discord and Rap Plug to provide a benefits package you can’t find anywhere else.”
“We are thrilled to partner with SoundCloud to support its thriving community of artists, musicians and creators,” said Squarespace’s chief marketing officer, Kinjil Mathur. “This collaboration aligns with our core values in giving artists a way to stand out and succeed by establishing their digital presence, building a beautiful website, and connecting with audiences across multiple touchpoints.”
This development forms part of SoundCloud’s strategic effort to enhance its creator offerings. Since launching SoundCloud for Artists in 2022, the company has introduced a range of updates including the new fans tool for artists, direct messages on mobile, a new Comments tool, a global licensing deal with Merlin, and additional member benefits partners such as Feature.FM.
Founded in 2007, SoundCloud boasts over 320 million tracks from 40 million artists. The company seeks to empower artists to build and grow their careers by providing them with advanced tools, services and resources.
