Fredokiss, Gwamba win big at Malawi awards
The organisers of the Urban Music People (UMP) announced winners of the 2017 edition event on Saturday night in Lilongwe, Malawi.
- Fredokiss won the Artist of the Year award and two more gongs.
- Gwamba was also a top winner at the UMP awards.
Fredokiss and Gwamba were the biggest winners with three awards each. Best known as the Ghetto King Kong, Fredokiss won the Best Live Artist, Best Rap & Hip Hop and Artist of the Year categories while Gwamba scooped the Best Gospel of the Year, Best Album of the Year and Best Collaboration of the Year awards.
Fredokiss had this to say about winning the awards: “I don’t take this for granted and that is why I am dedicating my awards to my fans in the ghetto. I am also thanking God for the awards since I know that I am not the best among all the artists in Malawi.”
