SA: K.O, Sjava and Kwesta to headline Jozi Tese Festival 2023
After a two-year hiatus, the fourth edition of Jozi Tese aims to provide festivalgoers with an enjoyable outdoor-themed camping experience. The festival is a collaboration with the Sedibeng District Municipality, offering attendees a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in South Africa’s culture and music.
Other artists lined up are Young Stunna, Daliwonga, Blaq Diamond, Felo Le Tee and Myztro as well as over 10 DJs, including Ganyani, Soulsauce, Jawz, and Nomsa Ninkies.
Festival director Tshepo Riba said the decision to move the event to the Vaal was informed by the need for a safe, secure, and vibrant space. “As Jozi Tese, we are cognisant that more and more people are ready to attend post-COVID mega music festivals, as well as big group cultural gatherings of this nature, which, along with the tourism sector, were among the hardest hit by the pandemic,” Riba said. “As organisers of one of Johannesburg’s biggest lifestyle music festivals, we are not only determined to make this a reality, we want to ensure we showcase the Jozi culture and vibe – the only way we know how.”
“We are bringing together some of South Africa’s hottest musicians under one roof, both established and upcoming. This is one of our ways of ensuring that the creative sector experiences accelerated access to employment in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.’’
