Call for applications: Zylofon Arts Fund
Ghanaian company Zylofon Media has announced a fund for individuals of up to $1m.
Over the past year, the company has made gains in the Ghanaian entertainment industry, signing deals with such acts as Stonebwoy and Becca, both of whom released albums last year.
“Zylofon Arts Fund is a fund that is going to support the creative arts industry from all disciplines,” the company’s head of communication, Samuel Atuobi Baah, said at the project's launch recently.
“Dancers, movie and music producers, artists and whoever plays a critical role in the creative arts industry stands a chance of accessing this fund.”
The aim of the fund, the company says, is to assist artists with ideas regarding their projects. Successful applicants will not have to pay interest on whatever amount is received.
At the launch, the company’s representatives were asked how they intend to sustain the project.
“We believe in the sustainability of the fund so Zylofon Media has decided to put 10% of profits we will make from our worldwide businesses into the fund to support it,” they said.
All applications for the Zylofon Arts Fund should be sent to the Zylofon offices at 40 Lagos Avenue, Opp. Mensvic Hotel, East Legon.
