Tanzania: Abigail Chams releases new single Nyash
Tanzanian popstar Abigail Chams has released a new single titled ‘Nyash’, which is available for streaming and download here.
‘Nyash’ comes in the wake of the singer’s bold transition from the wholesome ‘good girl’ image to an edgier, more daring persona. This shift marks a new chapter in her career, showcasing her versatility and daring artistic spirit, making space for a more authentic version of herself.
The track, produced by S2kizzy and featuring DJ Joozey, celebrates body positivity as well as African beauty. According to the singer’s team, the infectious bongo flava beats infused with amapiano create a dance anthem that encourages self-love and confidence on the dance floor, igniting a movement of empowerment.

The classically trained multi-instrumentalist remains one of the youngest East African artists to officially be signed to a major record label – Sony Music Africa. Her music is characterised by lively pop melodies and soulful Afro-R&B arrangements that allow her to show off her impressive vocal range. In addition, she sings in three languages: English, Swahili and French.
Abigail Chams has performed at the Dubai Expo and the NBA Africa Halftime Show, and appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show, among others.
